EDL march: Police mounting huge operation

More than 1,000 officers are on duty in Birmingham to police a demonstration organised by the English Defence League.

The rally coincides with a counter-demonstration by members of anti-fascist groups.

Assistant Chief Constable Sharon Rowe, from West Midlands Police, said it was one of the biggest operations the force had ever put in place.
