Milford Haven Coastguard: Vessel started to sink rapidly

Nearly 50 passengers, including a number of children, have been rescued from a boat after it struck a rock and started taking in water off Pembrokeshire.

The Lady Helen had been sailing from Martin's Haven to the nearby wildlife sanctuary of Skomer Island.

Milford Haven coastguard said all 48 passengers were taken ashore with no injuries.

Barrie Yelland from the Milford Haven Coastguard said the plan had been to tow the boat ashore before removing the passengers, but the vessel started to sink rapidly.
