Woolwich attack: Army to put uniforms back on', says chief

A brutal attack on a serving member of the armed forces in Woolwich on Wednesday was an "isolated incident", the Chief of Defence Staff has said.

General Sir David Richards told the BBC that he was "very confident that base security is as tight as it's ever been", and that it was now safe for military staff to wear their uniforms again, although "common sense" should be used.

Drummer Lee Rigby, 25, of the 2nd Battalion the Royal Regiment of Fusiliers was killed near Woolwich Barracks. Security there and at other barracks in London has been increased.
