Miliband: 'People who try and divide us will fail'

Labour leader Ed Miliband has called the murder of a serving member of the armed forces "appalling and an act of complete cowardice".

He continued: "People who try and divide us.... will fail because the British people are united across different faiths, different religions, different backgrounds in their abhorrence of crimes like this and in values of decency and tolerance."

Mr Miliband affirmed his support for the measures the government was taking.
