Police raids in East London targeting gang violence

This year there has been a spike in the number of teenagers murdered in London with seven teenagers having died already, compared to eight in the whole of 2012.

This morning 10 suspects were arrested in raids in East London, targeting gang related violence. The youngest was 16 years old.

BBC Radio 5 live's Lesley Ashmall spent the morning with the police specialist Central Gang Unit, and chief inspector Guy Wade from Newham Borough told her they regularly visit the gangs on "supportive basis" to give them the opportunity to get out.
