Theresa May proposes life sentences for police killers

The Home Secretary has called for criminals who kill police officers in England and Wales to face compulsory whole life sentences.

Theresa May told the Police Federation annual conference that "to attack and kill a police officer is to attack the fundamental basis of our society.'
