Castro letter says he 'needed help'
In the last few days there have been reports of what's been described as a suicide letter written by Ariel Castro, the man accused of kidnapping three women in Cleveland. The letter was said to have been found in his house.
The contents were obtained by Scott Taylor, an investigative reporter at 19 Action News, who told the Today programme that the letter contains details of "how he picked up each one of these women", an admission by Castro that he "needed help" and that he considered himself a "sexual predator".
Scott Taylor would not divulge the full contents of the letter, which has not been printed in full, because of what he describes as the "very sensitive" nature of the contents, which he thinks "could hurt the families" of the victims.
First broadcast on BBC Radio 4's Today programme on Saturday 11 May 2013.
