Ex-police officer admits selling information to The Sun

A former police officer has admitted in court that he sold information about three high-profile investigations to the The Sun for £500 in 2010.

In a hearing at the Old Bailey, James Bowes, who used to work for Sussex Police, admitted one count of misconduct in public office following investigation under Operation Elveden.

The BBC's Danny Shaw said it is likely Mr Bowes will be given a prison term when he is sentenced next month.
