Press regulation: PM proposes 'Royal Charter approach'

Cross-party talks on the Leveson press reforms have broken down.

Prime Minister David Cameron said he would publish plans for a Royal Charter to establish a new tougher press regulator on Monday.

Mr Cameron said the Government wanted to build a new system of regulation with a charter that would be the world's toughest regulatory system.
