The Royal British Legion launches poppy appeal for 2012

The Royal British Legion has launched this year's poppy appeal with a target of £42m.

Each year the Royal British Legion works to provide care and support to personnel returning from conflict, and to their families.

Singer Alesha Dixon was among the high profile figures who helped launch the 2012 campaign, as Jonathan Beale reports.
