Jimmy Savile: Police following '400 lines of inquiry'

Scores of women and several men have come forward since Jimmy Savile's death, to say that he abused them when they were children or teenagers.

Police have identified more than 200 potential victims and are following 400 lines of inquiry.

Some are now considering legal action against the BBC, the NHS and education authorities for failing to prevent abuse within their institutions.

Meanwhile two charities set up in Jimmy Savile's name have announced that they are closing down.
