Campaign launch to 'keep Union'

The campaign to keep Scotland in the United Kingdom has been officially launched. It is being chaired by the former Chancellor Alastair Darling and backed by Labour, the Conservatives and the Liberal Democrats.

The campaign argues that Scotland would enjoy greater prosperity by staying a part of the UK, and warns that leaving the union would be "a one-way ticket to a deeply uncertain destination".

The Scottish government is planning an independence referendum in autumn 2014.
