Government urged to recognise 'strength of feeling' over pensions
Unions have threatened more industrial action if the government goes ahead with their pension changes.
Two million teachers, civil servants, immigration staff and some NHS workers are set to walk out on Wednesday, despite the coalition making an improved offer in recent weeks.
Ministers are urging the unions involved to suspend their action and return to negotiations.
Karen Jennings, the assistant general secretary of the union, Unison said the government's plans to tax public sector workers 3% more on their pension were "unfair".
