Ed Balls: 'I would do the same today'

Sharon Shoesmith says she is "thrilled" to have won a Court of Appeal battle over her sacking after Baby Peter's death.

The former head of children's services was sacked by Haringey Council in December 2008 on the orders of the then Children's Secretary Ed Balls.

The High Court said her dismissal had been "unfair and unlawful".

Mr Balls said he disagreed with the judgement and he would make the same decision today.
