New road fines: Could driving like this cost you dear?

Police are to be given new powers to fine careless drivers on the spot, rather than taking them to court.

Motorists who tailgate, undertake or cut up other vehicles could face fines of up to £100 as part of a government strategy to make Britain's roads safer.
