BBC looks at the state of the Catholic Church

Pope Benedict will soon visit Britain. He will meet the Queen and visit Parliament as well as holding large open air masses in Glasgow and Birmingham.

But what sort of flock will he find?

Despite the arrival of a large number of Catholics from Eastern Europe, the Catholic Church is struggling with a long term decline in congregations.
