British scientists explore lost Antarctic lake
BBC science editor David Shukman explains why a British team's research mission to drill down to a lake beneath the Antarctic ice could reveal crucial information about the limits of life on earth and elsewhere.
The team is using a high-pressure hose and sterilised water at near boiling point to blast a passage through more than two miles (3.2 km) of ice.
