Miriam Margolyes reads from James and the Giant Peach

To mark 50 years of Roald Dahl's classic children's book, James and the Giant Peach, BBC Radio 4 Extra is broadcasting a brand new recording of the story.

Actress Miriam Margolyes, who played the part of Aunt Sponge in the 1996 film version of the book, reads from Dahl's popular novel about an orphan boy who escapes the oppression of his two nasty aunts. He embarks on an adventure aboard a giant peach with a colourful array of oversized insects.

The story is serialised in a special Roald Dahl related season on The 4 O'Clock Show, weekdays from Monday 12 September on BBC Radio 4 Extra. Or catch up via BBC iPlayer
