BMI calculator revamped: How accurate is it?

A new way of calculating the Body Mass Index (BMI) has been proposed and it is hoped it will solve some of the existing problems.

Traditionally BMI is calculated by taking your weight and dividing it by your height squared. However, one obvious weakness of the BMI is that it doesn't distinguish between fat and muscle. The aim of the new calculation is to correct some of these flaws.

Dr Ayan Panja joined the BBC's Lucy Hockings to discuss whether the new calculating method is more accurate.
