Rebel Libyan amputee treated by the NHS

Mahran Agil was shot while fighting for anti-Gaddafi forces in the battle for Tripoli earlier this year.

Mr Agil spoke to BBC News about his injury and his subsequent treatment in the UK, which has involved the amputation of his right lower leg.

At Libya's request and cost, up to 50 places at specialist hospitals in the UK were made available to Libyans needing surgery, prosthetic limbs and rehabilitation for severe injuries.

Neil Bowdler reports.
