European premiere of The Great Gatsby to open Cannes

The European premiere of Baz Luhrmann's version of The Great Gatsby is the opening film of this year's Cannes Film Festival.

It is one of the most eagerly anticipated releases of the summer, and has already taken more than $50 million at the box office on its opening weekend in America.

The BBC's Arts Editor Will Gompertz looks at the latest film to try to bring F Scott Fitzgerald's book to life.
