Ian Rankin's Detective Rebus comes out of retirement

Scottish author Ian Rankin has brought his hugely popular character Detective Rebus out of retirement for his new novel, Standing in Another Man's Grave.

The book sees Rebus taking on a new role on a missing person's case, as well as confronting new technology - tough work for a character Rankin describes as "a vinyl guy in a digital world".

He spoke to BBC Breakfast about why he brought Rebus back, why he has not watched any of the television adaptations of his novels, and why he thinks Rebus would not like him if they met.
