Letters show author JD Salinger not a recluse

Letters written by the late JD Salinger, author of Catcher in the Rye, suggest he may not deserve his reputation as a recluse.

When he died last year, he had not been interviewed for 30 years, or published any work since 1965.

However his correspondence with a British friend has come to light, offering a very different picture of his personality.

The BBC's Will Gompertz reports.
