John Bishop: 'Fringe nomination made me officially funny'

The nominees for this year's Edinburgh Fringe comedy award have been unveiled.

The five shorlisted acts include 20-year-old internet sensation Bo Burnham and Greg Davies from TV show The Inbetweeners.

Josie Long, Sarah Millican and Russell Kane are also nominated for the award, now in its 30th year.

One of the nominees from 2009, John Bishop, has since broken into primetime television with his BBC One show John Bishop's Britain.

He spoke to the BBC's Arts Editor Will Gompertz about the importance of the festival and how his career has changed since last year's nomination.
