'Choose apprenticeships over university' students told
A-level top grades have dropped for the second year in a row. So what options are available for students who may have missed out on a University place?
Well Spencer Mehlman, author of website 'Not Going to Uni', is urging young people to look again at apprenticeships - as a whole range of schemes in management, media and engineering are on offer.
Spencer told BBC Radio 5 live's Wake Up to Money: 'A degree doesn't necessarily guarantee a great job... but with an apprenticeship you're actually getting a salary and working towards getting a nationally recognised qualification.'
He added, 'There's a whole raft of industries that can see that young people are the future for them - so I would encourage people to have a look at not going to Uni.'
