A-level results: Drop in top grades

Hundreds of thousands of students in England, Wales and Northern Ireland have been finding out whether they have made the grade in their A-levels, as universities compete to attract them.

There was a fall in the proportion of A-levels awarded top grades for the second year in a row, after years of steady increases.
