Women 'could be travelling to Syria to fight'

There is "reason to suspect" that women are travelling to Syria to fight on the front line, the Institute for Strategic Dialogue has said.

Rachel Briggs, the think tank's policy and research director, told the Today programme that they may not be acting in a purely supportive role to the men fighting.

Twin teenage girls who have gone missing in Manchester are thought to have travelled to the country, though their specific intentions remain unclear.

First broadcast on BBC Radio 4's Today programme on Monday 15 July.
