Network Rail to build 'new stations and lines'

Network Rail plan to invest £38 billion in rail infrastructure to cope with the "huge growth" in passenger numbers, its chief executive Mark Carne has said.

Speaking to the Today programme's Simon Jack, Mr Carne explained that the extra funding will be used to "increase capacity" and "improve reliability" on the UK's rail network, including the build of "new stations" and lines.

First broadcast on BBC Radio 4's Today programme on Monday 31 March.
