Honda boss blames production cut on 'very slow growth'
Carmaker Honda has been explaining why it plans to cut production at its Swindon factory from three shifts to two, threatening 340 jobs.
Senior vice president Ian Howells told BBC News that while demand had grown in the UK, "that's not reflected in the rest of Europe and 90% of our total production in Swindon goes into the European market place".
"We're very much fully committed to our Swindon capacity", he continued, "we have every confidence that as the market starts to improve we will make sure that production is brought back".
