ABI: Insurers will cover floods if risks are controlled
Insurers will continue to provide flood cover if the risks can be controlled, according to the Association of British Insurers.
Insurance claims for flooding over Christmas and New Year already totalled around £426 million.
Malcolm Tarling, from the Association of British Insurers, said insurers would cover those in at risk areas as long as flood prevention measures were made.
He told BBC Radio 5 live's Wake Up to Money: "We need to get that risk down... If we can keep it under control then insurers will continue to offer flood cover."
