European Central Bank: Interest rates to remain low

The European Central Bank (ECB) president Mario Draghi has said he expects interest rates to remain at their "present or lower levels for an extended period of time".

The ECB has left interest rates at an historic low level of 0.5%.

The decision not to cut rates further comes amidst a backdrop of political crisis in Portugal after two key ministers resigned.
