NAO warns HS2 timetable 'is over-ambitious'

The National Audit Office has cast doubt on government claims that the new high speed rail line will transform the economy.

The £33bn HS2 line will initially link London and Birmingham, before going on to Manchester and Leeds.

Geraldine Barker from the National Audit Office said there needs to be more clarity about how the project will deliver jobs.
