Mark Carney: Bank of England 'could devise new stimulus'

The Bank of England could "devise new instruments" to provide a stimulus to the UK economy, the future governor has said.

Mark Carney told MPs that the current policy of inflation targeting could steer the country back into growth, but it would be his responsibility to monitor and if necessary adjust monetary policy to help the economy.
