China economy shows pick up signs

China is attempting to stimulate consumer demand to move the balance of the economy away from large capital projects.

The world's second largest economy grew by 7.9% in the final three months of 2012, up from 7.4% in the previous quarter.

The BBC's Damian Grammaticas reports from the huge port of Wuhan.

He said that the economy was still reliant on the large government industries, but there was a growing affluent middle-class to be served with high rises and shopping centres.
