Mini gold bars sold as recession proof Christmas gift

Anyone looking for a recession-proof Christmas present may be in luck.

A French gold supplier is selling miniature gold bars which they say are the perfect stocking filler for a child.

Francois de Lassus, from CPoR company, in Paris, said buying a 50g ingot would be a good way of investing for the future, thanks to the price of gold continuing to soar.

At current prices, a 50g ingot would cost around £1,300 (1,600 euros).
