The papers: Thursday's front pages

29 May 2014 Last updated at 04:30 BST

Jenni Russell, of The Times, and Daily Telegraph media writer Neil Midgley joined the BBC News Channel to review Thursday's papers.

They began by discussing coverage of the turmoil within the Liberal Democrats, amid reports of a "botched coup", before moving on to Labour's prospects at the next general election.

The pair then looked at the Financial Times's front page, which carried a warning from one member of the Bank of England's monetary policy committee that interest rates must rise soon to avoid painful increases in the future.
