Film lifts lid on life inside Dubai migrant worker camps

14 January 2014 Last updated at 10:47 GMT

The vast majority of the buildings in the Gulf have been constructed by low-wage migrant labourers.

A new documentary, Champ of the Camp, is claiming to be the first to film freely inside the camps in which they live, where permission to go is often heavily restricted.

The film is due for release later this month across the UAE, and lifts the lid on a side of migrant workers' lives that is not often seen.

Jonathan Frewin reports.
