Port Erin gas blast: Victim's six-year-payout fight goes on

23 October 2013 Last updated at 00:08 BST

A man left in intensive care after his house was destroyed in a gas explosion is still fighting for compensation almost six years on.

Jim Horan suffered broken ribs, leg injuries and multiple burns in the blast, caused by a fractured gas main in the street outside his Port Erin home, in January 2008.

The 61-year-old is trying to establish whether Manx Gas should be held accountable.

Manx Gas declined to comment until the conclusion of any court action.
