India's plans to give citizens the legal right to food
India is one of the world's largest food producers, however more than two hundred million of its population are malnourished.
The government has proposed legislation to give every citizen the right to food, however implementing the policy will put a heavy financial burden on the economy.
The BBC's Yogita Limaye looks at whether India can afford to increase its subsidies on food.
