Malaysia's new villages built to aid poor people

An experimental project of building new villages in Malaysia, to help poor people in rural areas to provide for themselves, has proved so successful that the government wants to extend the idea to other areas of the country.

According to the United Nations, in 2009 two thirds of the poorest people in Malaysia lived in the countryside.

As the BBC's Jennifer Pak reports, from the eastern state of Pahang, the experimental village began as a charity project.
