India wants home grown pc chips

India is trying to encourage its technology sector to start making home grown components, rather than using electronic chips made abroad, to manufacture products like televisions, or computers.

The Indian government wants to copy the successful manufacturing operation run by Samsung in its home country of South Korea.

As the BBC's Shilpa Kannan reports the idea is to make the "Made in India" stamp familiar in many overseas markets.
