'Public furious at Manx government'

A union claims people are furious at the Isle of Man government after cuts in education were announced.

Plans have been unveiled to close one island primary school and withdraw funding for 11 pre-school facilities.

The changes will bring about 30 job cuts within the education department.

Angela Moffatt, negotiations officer for Prospect Union, said: "The public are justifiably furious at the Manx government because they are spending money on absolute rubbish."
