Obama says US-Israeli bond 'unbreakable'

US President Barack Obama has said the bond between Israel and the US is ''unbreakable'' as he welcomed Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu to the White House.

Speaking to reporters, Mr Obama commended the easing of Israel's blockade in the Gaza Strip.

He also urged the Israelis and Palestinians to resume direct peace talks before a settlement freeze expires in September.
