Plan to speed up Trawsfynydd nuclear decommissioning

Help

Work on decommissioning the former nuclear power station at Trawsfynydd, Gwynedd, could be finished earlier than expected if plans to work around the clock are approved by the UK Government.

The aim is to finish clearing the remaining nuclear waste on site by 2014 - eight years earlier than originally planned.

Environment correspondent Iolo ap Dafydd reports.
