Two vans have been hijacked and set on fire and petrol bombs thrown at police in County Armagh.

Drivers were advised to avoid the area around the Drumbeg and Monbrief roundabouts in Craigavon for a time following the disturbances on Thursday.

A police spokesperson said calm had since been restored to the area but officers were monitoring the situation.

The trouble broke out as officers conducted a search of the area. No-one was injured during the incident.
