BBC Trust Chairman Lyons defends star pay request

The BBC Trust chairman has said it is right to ask the corporation to name its highest paid stars but not to reveal individual salaries.

Sir Michael Lyons said it was important to ensure "public confidence" but warned that publishing the salaries of celebrities could spark costly bidding wars between broadcasters.
