Man held after motorist, 84, dies in East Sussex crash

An 84-year-old woman motorist has died following a collision between two cars in East Sussex.

Police were called to Goat Corner in Hindleap Lane, south of Forest Row, on Friday afternoon.

Thelma Barker, from Horsham, who was driving a Seat Arosa, was airlifted to hospital but died later that day.

A 50-year man from Wallington, south London, who was driving a VW Golf, was arrested and bailed on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving.

There were no passengers in either vehicle.

Police have urged any witnesses to the collision, which happened just before 1400 BST, to contact them.
