Girl dies after being hit by car in south London

A 14-year-old girl has died after being hit by a car in south London.
The youngster was struck in New Addington on Saturday night and died in the early hours after being taken to Kings College Hospital in south east London.
Scotland Yard said the driver of the car, a 35-year-old man, has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and is in police custody.
Police are appealing for witnesses.
