Earthquake rattles Canadian capital Ottawa

Thousands of people fled their offices and homes when an earthquake struck the Canadian capital Ottawa.

The magnitude five quake interrupted a live news conference and was felt as far away as New York City in the US, but there were no reports of injuries or major damage.
