Manx charities to benefit from lottery

Charities and community organisations on the Isle of Man are set to benefit from £1.5m in lottery money.

The Big Lottery Fund in the UK has awarded the money to the Manx Lottery Trust to spend over the next five years.

The trust will make grants through its awards programme, which was launched online this weekend.

Organisations can apply for a grant of between £1,001 and £10,000 under the General Awards Programme.

The Manx Lottery Trust can provide grants to Isle of Man registered charities, voluntary and community organisations, clubs or associations, or companies limited by guarantee.

The trust can also offer grant assistance to local authorities and schools for schemes involving non-statutory duties.

Interested groups are being urged to apply.
